What happens when getting Gua Sha?
During a gua sha session, a practitioner will apply oil to the skin and then use the tool to gently scrape the skin in a downward motion. This scraping action creates small red or purple marks on the skin, known as petechiae, which indicate that the technique is working to release toxins and promote circulation.

Many people find gua sha to be a relaxing and therapeutic addition to their acupuncture sessions. The gentle scraping sensation, along with the release of tension and stress, can leave patients feeling rejuvenated and balanced.

In addition to its physical benefits, gua sha is also believed to have emotional and spiritual benefits. The release of toxins and blockages in the body can help to clear the mind and promote a sense of calm and clarity.

Overall, the incorporation of gua sha into acupuncture sessions can provide a holistic approach to healing that addresses both the physical and energetic aspects of the body. Whether used as a standalone treatment or in combination with acupuncture, gua sha offers a unique and effective way to promote health and well-being.
